Following its launch in 2019, The Driver Handbook has recently deployed the second generation of its app and TDHConnect content management system. The powerful new software not only provides improved functionality via the app, but most importantly gives fleet managers a range of new features to help communicate essential information to drivers effectively and efficiently.
Following 18 months’ intensive development work, The Driver Handbook has further strengthened its original product with Version 2, which has been rolling out to customers since early 2021.
The completely rebuilt drivers’ app which is available for most smartphones, tablets and handheld devices offers improved offline functionality, meaning that even without a mobile signal, users can always access business critical information. The most significant development, saw the creation of TDHConnect, the content management system which powers the app and puts fleet managers in full control of what and how they share up-to-the-minute information with drivers.
Paul Smithson, Director, Protea Training Co Ltd said “Since January, I’ve onboarded over 20 of my clients onto The Driver Handbook and it’s been an absolute game-changer for both their businesses and mine. Most importantly, it gives my customers the confidence that their drivers now have quick and easy access to the very latest information they need to do their jobs safely and legally.”
TDHConnect allows managers to access standard industry-leading handbook content, load bespoke content and delivers immediate reporting on drivers’ progress and comprehension throughout the app. In order to quickly communicate essential material, TDHConnect also has a module to send instant notifications direct to individual devices by driver, department or entire organisation. The ability to create and load Knowledge Check quizzes to the app is an essential way to assess drivers’ comprehension of key topics and helps build improved engagement.
“We’ve taken feedback from our customers and used our own understanding of the transport and logistics world to develop Version 2 of our app and TDHConnect,” said Glen Davies, Managing Director, The Driver Handbook. “We know the difficulties faced with running successful fleet operations and how problematic and time-consuming it can be for transport managers to communicate effectively with what is generally a dispersed audience of professional drivers. Whilst Version 1 delivered a comprehensive solution to a problem, this new iteration improves on the functionality in every way. We’ve invested heavily to make Version 2 the best it can be; we are already looking at future developments to progress the software to the next stage, whilst ensuring our customers are getting the tools they need to do their jobs more effectively.”
The Driver Handbook is available as a standalone app or with access to TDHConnect and is available via annual licence for any size fleet. Apps can be downloaded via Google Play and Apple’s app store. There is a simple pricing structure starting from £12.99 per app user, per year, with various bolt-ons depending on an organisation’s requirements. Training and support is available to all TDHConnect users at no cost, throughout the duration of a contract.
